Uganda

Humanist Orphanage & Education

At the Kacese and Eagle View Humanist Schools, education is more than books, it’s survival, dignity, and hope. These schools support children orphaned or displaced by religious and territorial conflict. They provide a safe, secular environment grounded in reason, compassion, and practical life skills.

Impact Details

The David Silverman Charitable Fund has directly funded:

  • Land Acquisition: Ensuring permanent, sustainable farming to achieve long-term food security.
  • Infrastructure Improvements: Providing beds, mattresses, reliable lighting, and electricity transforming bare rooms into safe, comfortable living spaces.

Safe House for Ex-Muslims

Overview

Leaving Islam can be dangerous. Even deadly. This fund supports a discreet, secure apartment in Turkey, providing ex-Muslims fleeing persecution a safe haven.

How the Safe House Works

The apartment offers secure, temporary housing for asylum seekers. Residents use this home as a legal base so that they can obtain necessary documents, prepare asylum applications, and establish a stable foothold from which they can safely rebuild their lives.

Real Language, Real Stakes

The threats ex-Muslims face are severe. The safe house meets those threats quietly, strategically, and humanely.  The goal is to protect lives without drama or spectacle.
